What I Am Trying to Build With M.V. Mitic and Valentine Kingdom

When I started writing The Eternal Prince, I was primarily thinking about the story. I was not sitting there with a giant plan covering ecommerce, digital libraries, publishing infrastructure, articles, audiobooks, traffic systems and everything else that now exists around M.V. Mitic and Valentine Kingdom. Those layers appeared gradually as the project became more serious. The more I worked on the world, the less it felt like something that should exist only inside one book. At the same time, I never want the systems surrounding it to become more important than the reason they exist in the first place.

The Story Still Has to Carry Everything

No amount of technology can replace a story people care about. A perfect website cannot make someone remember characters they found forgettable, and advertising cannot manufacture an emotional connection with a world that feels empty. That is why the books remain the center. The website, reader, articles and everything else are there to make the world easier to discover, enter and return to. I spend a lot of time thinking about names, atmosphere, symbols, locations and visual identity because those are the kinds of things that can eventually make a fictional world recognizable before somebody even sees the title.

I Want One Connected World Rather Than Random Projects

I am much more interested in building one universe deeply than creating dozens of unrelated things. Someone might first discover one of my general articles without knowing anything about Valentine Kingdom. From there they can encounter the book, read the free chapters and perhaps become a reader. If they enjoy the first book, there can eventually be another one, then another format, a physical edition, an audiobook or something else connected to the same world. Each layer can support the others because they are not competing for completely different audiences. That is much more appealing to me than constantly throwing away everything I learned and starting another unrelated project from zero.

The Foundation Comes Before the Scale

Right now the project is still small enough that I can understand almost every part of the machine myself. That gives me room to test, make mistakes, change things and see what actually works before large numbers of people depend on it. I can watch how Google indexes the site, how Pinterest distributes articles, how people use the reader, how payments behave and which traffic sources are worth more attention. If the project eventually becomes much larger, I would rather arrive there with systems that have already been tested than build everything while millions of people are waiting. There are many things I may want Valentine Kingdom to become later, but they do not all need to exist today. Books, website, reader, content, traffic and customers come first. Then the next layer can be added when there is a reason for it. That is what I am really trying to build: not one book surrounded by temporary marketing, but a world with a permanent system around it that can keep expanding for years.
