How Often Should an Author Publish Blog Posts?

There are many recommendations about how often someone should publish a blog post.

Personally, I do not think there is one correct number. I care more about whether the articles are useful and whether I can produce them consistently without turning the entire website into low-quality filler.

Every Article Creates Another Opportunity

A new article can become another page in Google, another Pin on Pinterest and another link that can be shared elsewhere.

That means volume matters.

One article has one opportunity to be discovered. One hundred useful articles give the website many more subjects, keywords and entry points.

That is why I would rather build steadily than publish occasionally and hope one page somehow does everything.

Articles Do Not Need to Be Enormous

I also do not think every blog post needs to become a huge essay.

If something can be explained clearly in a short article, making it four times longer does not automatically make it better.

I prefer articles that are easy to read, focused on one subject and long enough to actually say something useful without adding paragraphs simply to increase the word count.

Build a Library Over Time

The way I see it, blogging is less about following a perfect weekly schedule and more about building a useful library.

At first, the library may barely receive traffic.

Later, older articles can continue working while new ones are added on top.

That is where consistency becomes powerful: not because publishing itself is impressive, but because every useful article remains another asset the website can keep using.
